This generation seems to have popularised the term even though the lengthened version (nepotism baby) was first used in the 2010s. In 2020, the term was shortened, and ever since has become the topic of discussion on many social media apps. A lot of people have voiced their opinions on whether being a nepo baby truly is a fair way of succeeding and/or becoming famous. Regardless, we can’t deny that nepo babies, just like other celebrities, can help to create and strengthen trends in the fashion industry particularly.

Lila Moss is a 22-year-old model and daughter of one of the biggest models out there: Kate Moss. Lily-Rose Depp is a 25-year-old actress and the daughter of famous actor, Johnny Depp. Both of these women would be considered by many to be nepo babies – and quite influential ones at that. Both women have more recently broken into their respective industries and taken them by storm. Whether their famous parents could’ve helped with this might still be debatable, although we do feel that, regardless, they are incredibly talented.

In terms of the former, she has obviously had more of an influence in this industry being a model. And her face and looks have graced magazines spanning the likes of Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire. Thus, you can say she’s definitely causing some splashes in the high-fashion world. Not to mention, with 815.3k followers watching her every move and post on Instagram like hawks, it’s clear that Lila’s personal style has also been turning some heads. Like mother like daughter, she has been seen sporting some of the trendiest of streetwear whilst out and about, and we think this could deffo help make things trend.

Lily-Rose Depp has also arguably helped us make certain fashion-based decisions. She, too, has graced multiple high-up fashion magazine covers and spoken to mags such as: Elle, Vogue, and Glamour UK. She is also known to be an ambassador for designer brand Chanel (and has been since 2015) and her street style and red carpet looks have sparked a lot of talk on socials – especially TikTok. Not to mention, one of her latest projects, The Idol, has caused many to be in awe of her style and glam looks. We can deffo see her causing more seismic trend-earthquakes in the future.
