KIMHEKIM Pushes The Envelope Of Classic Staples In His Spring 23 Collection
KIMHEKIM is proving that classic doesn't have to be boring!
KIMHEKIM’s recent Pre-Spring 23 collection has a strong modernity to it, where the founder Kiminte puts his own spin on timeless casual wear styles by juxtaposing them with elegant silhouettes and shapes.
With commercial denim’s never-ending takeover of the world, it’s always nice to see designers like Kiminte bring their own fresh perspective to the table, that allows us to have a new found appreciation for it again. You’ll witness denim translated through a dignified vocabulary, with asymmetrical cut skirts, elegant princess necklines, and long trains.
To continue, this collection also carries some very Chanel-like tweed outfits interpreted through youthful aesthetics and styling. You’ll also see some very effortless pieces, such as over-sized college logo sweatshirts, leather and denim motorcycle jackets, crisp silk suits, as well as shift dresses and shirts with cute bow details.
Lastly, we have to talk about the hair! More specifically, the dresses made out of actual hair, where the designer really sells a sort of female viking royal fantasy through braiding techniques that highlight the form so well. Not to mention, the drama of the voluminous curls that just take your breath away instantly.
Overall, this forward thinking body of work had a lot of variety, where almost every piece stood out, and were real signature moments for both the present and the future.
