10 Models to Keep an Eye on

If the ‘90s had the Supers, we have them.

POSTED BY ANA BEATRIZ REITZ

Strut, flash, and pose – that's the model's motto. From Charles Frederick Worth, who turned women into mannequins in the 1800s to 60s darlings such as Donyale Luna and Twiggy, the model's role has always been a part of the fashion world. And as time went on, it only grew.

The 80s had Iman, the 90s had the Supers, the 2000s had Brazilian Bombshells and Slavic Dolls, the 2010s the Angels. Now, what do the 2020s have? Below, Fizzy has put together a list of the 10 models who have graced the public and the industry alike that you must keep an eye on.

Anok Yai

Gracing several magazine covers and runways, Anok Yai has been a household name for some time now. Her career started in 2017 when she was discovered by photographer Steve 'theSUNK' Hall, who took a photo of her and posted it on his Instagram, garnering 20,000 likes and messages from various modeling agencies.

Since then, she's been everywhere, walking for the likes of Prada, Versace, and Ralph Lauren, becoming the face of Mugler's Alien fragrance, rocking the red carpet and street style like no one else, and being named one of this generation's "New Supers" by Models.com. By now it's impossible to watch a fashion show without spotting Yai leading the way – or rather running, as she turned into a runaway bride for VETEMENTS Spring/Summer 2025, giving a show.

Paloma Elsesser

With a name that makes an impact, Paloma Elssesser is recognized for her experimental, adventurous style and a runway presence that exudes poise and power. After being discovered on Instagram by make-up artist Pat McGrath, Elssesser began taking the fashion world by storm – even though she had no idea of her power. “I didn’t know that being a plus-size model was possible,” she told Byrdie. But now that she's gracing the likes of Proenza Schouler, Coperni, Willy Chavarria, Marni, Michael Kors, and Boss, and being the star of several high-profile magazines, she's proving that it's not only possible, it's crucial.

Imaan Hammam

Discovered by a CODE Management agent at Amsterdam Central Station in 2010 at the age of thirteen, Imaan Hammam has been everywhere from magazines to runways with a strong and commanding walk and an even more commanding presence.

In this year so far, Hammam has delighted fashion fans and insiders alike as the face of the Bottega Veneta Winter 2024 campaign, at the Met Gala 2024 "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" with a Swarovski look, walking for Schiaparelli Fall/Winter 2024 Couture, starring in M Le Magazine du Monde's "Génération Mode" issue highlighting Dutch talents, and modeling for Ralph Lauren Spring/Summer 2025. With being confirmed to return to the Victoria's Secret runway on 15 October, she's one to watch.

Mona Tougaard

Danish model Mona Tougaard is no stranger to the fashion scene, which is why we need to keep an eye on her. Scouted at the age of 12 and winner of the Elite Model Look Denmark competition at 15, Tougaard was a prodigy, dazzling everyone backstage with her almond eyes, precise walk, meticulous poses, and welcoming smile.

It all led her to the top four fashion cities, walking the likes of Prada, Loewe, Fendi, Jacquemus, Alaïa and Schiaparelli, as well as being the face of many magazines. Now, she's a bona fide star.

Colin Jones

One of the most in-demand models of the moment with a powerful and firm walk, Colin Jones aka Col the Doll is proving to be a legend all the way. As a trans model determined to open doors for the transgender community in the fashion industry, it is safe to say that Jones has paved her way to the top while pushing boundaries and empowering people.

A favorite on the catwalks, she's seen everywhere from New York to Paris. Her popularity grew even more after the Maison Margiela Spring/Summer 2024 show, where she walked in an upcycled dress and hat with her distinctive expressive walk. Now appearing in the likes of Mugler, Nina Ricci, and Blumarine, Jones has become an icon in her own right.

Precious Lee

Just like her name, Precious Lee is precious. With her charismatic presence and confident walk, Lee is one of those names that spark the most excitement in the fashion world. A student at Clark Atlanta University, Lee got her start in modeling at the age of 18 and moved to New York after finishing her degree. Her debut show was for Christian Siriano in 2017, and she's now a familiar face in the likes of Versace, Prabal Gurung, Grace Ling, Michael Kors, and Fendi.

Alex Consani

One of the most sought-after models of the era, Alex Consani has grown into an icon, whether in sartorial terms or as a TikTok legend – check out her @captincroook and @ms.mawma accounts. As the first transgender model to be signed by an agency at the age of 13, she joined IMG at the age of 16.

From then on, the world was hers. Walking the runways for Simone Rocha, Diesel, Thom Browne, and Alexander McQueen, being the face of Jean Paul Gaultier's collaboration with London label Knwls, and having a style that's nothing short of super, Consani proves that she's the people's princess through and through.

Leomie Anderson

Scouted in London at the age of 14 and making her catwalk debut at 17, Leomie Anderson was booked and busy for most of her teenage years, walking for the likes of Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Moschino, and Victoria's Secret. After launching her brand and blog, LAPP, in 2016, Anderson's status as an entrepreneur took off – but it didn't affect her fashion relevance. Add podcaster, presenter, and businesswoman to her resume and she's still everywhere in the fashion scene, from La Quan Smith to Diesel.

Devyn Garcia

As warm as the sun, Miami diva Devyn Garcia has made her mark. Her interest in modeling began while she was still in high school, and once she was signed by a New York agency, her dream became a reality. Whether as the face of various Victoria's Secret campaigns, the star of numerous Vogue covers, or as a regular on the catwalks of Gabriela Hearst, Chanel, Tory Burch, Hermès, and Michael Kors, Garcia is here to stay.

Lulu Tenney

Spotted by a modeling agent while out for a stroll in New York City, American model Lulu Tenney is now renowned for her captivating walk. With her debut being no less than the opening of Calvin Klein in 2017, she's now seen all over, from Chanel to Marc Jacobs.
