The Season Of The Witch: Halloween 2024 Trends

Are you ready to get scared?

POSTED BY VALENTINA HENRIQUES

Spooky season is fully upon us, meaning it's time to get into the Halloween spirit. Our rich and ever-growing pop culture is providing some great costume inspiration this year, offering some blasts from the past with a touch of the present trends. Whether you're into being a brat, classic horror movie characters or just an iconic throwback, this year is welcoming it all.

Brat-inspired: Unleash your inner Charli XCX

Thanks to artists like Charli XCX and The Dare, 2024 is all about the bold and naughty „brat“ vibe. This year's costumes will be playful and influenced by electro-pop. Think low-rise and micro shorts, thin heels, as well as black sunglasses and frosted eye makeup to finish off the look. The duo of Charli XCX and her collaborator The Dare is a fun idea for a couple's costume and an unexpected but cool departure from the standard couple's costumes.

Britney Spears Revival: by Addison Rae

Britney is back, and with pop-princess Addison Rae following in her footsteps, we are witnessing a major resurgence of iconic Britney inspired looks. This Halloween, we'll see lots of “Baby One More Time” schoolgirl outfits, red latex jumpsuits, and glittery VMAs-inspired ensembles. If you want to opt for a modern twist to these looks, combine the outfits with edgy makeup and hair trends, to create a look that's both nostalgic and contemporary.

The Crow: Let’s get dark

With the reboot of The Crow, starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs, a sexy, dark 90s vibe is very much back this spooky season. Expect to see some heavy goth influences in costumes inspired by this cult classic this Halloween. Leather coats, torn-up shirts, topped off by a heavy black eyeliner. It's the perfect opportunity to radiate some spooky energy. Also a great idea for a killer couple’s costume. Quite literally.

80s Slasher: The Maxxxine Effect

With the recent release of 'Maxxxine' came a complete revival of the slasher style of the 80s. This Halloween will be full of horror-inspired retro looks: 80s clothes, dramatic blood splatters, and big hair are a must. Maxxxine Minx will undoubtedly be one of the coolest costumes with her mix of slasher horror elements and fabulous 80s glam.
