Trends for SS24: Spring Style Forecast

Flowers in bloom and dressing in style.

Recently our feeds have been flooded with content surrounding all of the AW24 Fashion Weeks, and we’ve been taking notes on what we should be wearing when autumn arrives. But as we are quickly approaching Spring, it’s time to cast our minds back to the shows in September and prepare for the next season of fashion. March sees many designers’ SS24 collections hitting the boutiques, so if you had your eye on anything then now’s the time to snap up some pieces. However, if you’re on a tighter budget why not take inspiration from the next season’s prediction and find some of these staples in your own wardrobes.

Mini Shorts

Micro shorts were seen strutting down the catwalk by many of the different fashion houses in the SS24 shows, so it’s time to take in back to the 70’s and get our hands on some hot pants! Here’s to hoping that the weather holds out for these tiny pieces, but on a chilly spring morning or a (slightly) more conservative occasion, why not try layering them over some higher-waisted pants or boxers?

Polo Shirts

Country club couture is on the cards for fashion this Spring/Summer season, as collars and cotton shirts made a cameo in the SS24 shows. Along the same preppy vibes, we also saw flip flops, spa towels and rugby shirts on the catwalk. Contrast your preppy look by unbuttoning your polo shirts or wearing your hair natural and/or textured to give your style an effortless edge.

Sheer Layering

Lace, mesh, embroidery, crochet or sequins. The upcoming season is all about detailed, sheer pieces that can be layered to create texture and dimension to any look. Furthermore, for those unreliable spring days with ever-changing weather, these pieces can be worn and removed in the case of an unexpected April shower or sunny spell.

Metallic Madness

Gold girlies and silver sisters, we can officially live in harmony with the arrival of this trend! We already know that sequins are here to stay through Spring and Summer, but chainmail, metallic-treated fabrics and even lamé will be your go-to for evening wear. Or you could even dress down a metallic skirt or top with an all-black outfit to really let the metallic shine.

Return of the High Rise

Low rise, relaxed waists had their moment, but Loewe are leading the movement back into high-waisted silhouettes. Their SS24 collection even features a built-in corset in their trousers for extra cinching under the bust. Pair some high-waisted, tailored trousers with a tucked-in shirt or blouse to really exaggerate the high rise shape this Spring and Summer.

Final Thoughts

With a new season arriving brings new weather, new plans and lots of new fashion. Embrace change and revamp your looks to be ahead of the upcoming SS24 trends and stand out from the crowd.
