“Never give up on your dreams”; solidarity and hope from beauty’s first Dame.

We would be lying if we shied away from are utmost dumbfound love for Pat McGrath and her wonders in the beauty industry.

Working her magic on faces for the likes of Prada, DiorAlexander McQueen, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Tom Ford, Versace, there isn’t a profile that she hasn’t entwined with her skills; there’s even a self-titled make-up line, Pat McGrath Labs, which has romanticised our make-up bags since 2015.

After being honoured an MBE for her contribution to fashion and beauty in 2014, the MUA has now been spotlighted in this year’s New Year Honours list, befitting a Dame for her services to beauty and diversity  – she is the very first make-up artist to achieve the title.

“I am truly delighted and humbled to be given this wonderful honour. My mother’s obsession with beauty and fashion ignited my passion for this amazing industry and I feel blessed to have the privilege of working with some of the most extraordinary people throughout my career,” McGrath says on receipt of the honour.

“Color across the spectrum is my life’s work and inspiration and I celebrate individuality particularly with my brand Pat McGrath Labs, so I am especially honoured that this award is also for diversity. I believe that with creativity and resilience there can be abundant possibilities and that is certainly true today with this award,” she continues.

Diversity and inclusion are beauty’s biggest trends for the future and with Pat leading the way we’ve no doubt that there’s only good to follow.
