Dr Martens Reunite With Marc Jacobs In 1460 Remastered Series
Another celebration of DM’s 60th anniversary.
For the latest in the 1460 Remastered series, Dr Martens have collaborated with Marc Jacobs yet again to create a custom boot that reflects both brands’ signature styles. Throughout 2020, the British boot label have partnered with a number of powerhouse brands to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the iconic 1460 boot, including Hello Kitty, BAPE and Yohji Yamamoto. Jacobs first teamed up with Dr. Martens back in 1993 with the Perry Ellis grunge collection and the 2020 collaboration champions the very same “no-holds-barred spirit”.
Inspired by the DIY culture that has been a driving-force for both brands, the boots are decked in custom-made charms made from antique gold in the form of dice, keys and whistles, paired with jewel-toned gems which are indicative of Jacobs’ signature aesthetic. The boot itself arrives in a classic burgundy colorway in a fully vegan upper and vegan heel loop, featuring the exposed leather welt stitching that have become a hallmark aspect for the brand’s classic silhouette. The Marc Jacobs x Dr. Martens boot drops on September 26. Click here to sign up to the newsletter to get notified when they drop.
