Michelle Obama Advocates For A Peaceful Transition Of Power

Donald Trump and his supporters can’t accept the results of the presidential election, despite Joe Biden’s confirmed and legal victory. The former First Lady Michelle Obama decided to speak out and compared the situation to her feelings four years ago.
In her lengthy Instagram post, she recalled feeling ‘hurt and disappointed’ with Trump’s victory in 2016. She also admitted to discomfort and anger after Trump’s spread of racist lies about herself, her family and president Obama. She put the anger aside tho because, in her view, it was the right thing to do, for the sake of the country and democracy.
Michelle also revealed some details of the transition of power four years ago. She answered Melania’s questions about the role of First Lady, invited Trump’s team into the office and prepared detailed memos for them, sharing the eight years of experience.
The former First Lady warned that conspiracy theories put American security in danger. She encouraged the Trumps to follow Obamas’ example and honor the electoral result, whether they like it or not, out of respect for the country.
