How To Master Alexa Demie's Cool Girl Look

I've been obsessed with Alexa Demie since season one of Euphoria - back then, I was desperate for her ruched cherry dress or her salmon pink and blue two-piece. In the time that's passed, her character's vibe has grown edgier, and the dark glamour she exudes has become synonymous with Alexa Demie's own confidence and mystique. The sultry makeup, the slick streetwear... Alexa's evolving style has in no way lessened my awe, but rather inspired me to think about ways I can attain - or how you can attain - her new signature look.

The Darker The Better

The first step to stealing her style is to welcome blacks into your wardrobe. Not like that's much of an adjustment for me, who is always on the search for the perfect Little Black Dress. Whether it's a monochromatic leather look or just a way to make your colors pop, Alexa's wardrobe is full of black, and who would she be without it? It's classic for a reason.

Fur For Life

Fur is another must. When I envision Alexa, I envision her shrouded in an elaborate, brown fur coat, cellphone in hand, looking impressive and busy in equal measure. Leopard print is a fierce choice, tapping into the Y2K feel we associate with Maddy, and that I love so dearly - Alexa's own style also encapsulates 90s glam with her love for slip dress silhouettes, brown lip liner and thin brows.

Sunglasses All Day Every Day

And who can forget sunglasses? They're a staple of Alexa's street style and a sure-fire way to seem mysterious. I confess to having recreated her iconic sunglasses, bandana, leather jacket and jeans combination on occasion, and I have honestly never felt hotter. The coolness is derived from how effortless the shades are, like you just threw them on - and now I always keep a pair by my bedside just in case.

Finally... The Mindset

As much as I love the clothes and the shades, I've learned that the most important element to nailing this style is the belief that you ARE the statement. Alexa's style perfectly encapsulates refined minimalism, allowing you to shine in dramatic smoky makeup - you aren't a random person dressed in glamorous clothing; the glamour comes from you. Less can certainly be more, and we see this time and time again in Alexa's simplistic black and white photos and affinity for jeans. Her outfits are never overbearing, merely a vessel of her power - after all, 90% of life is confidence.
