The life and legacy of iconic fashion journalist and stylist André Leon Talley was honored this weekend at the star’s memorial in Harlem. Talley passed away in January at the age of 73 after a lifetime of success within the fashion industry as a creative director, designer and esteemed media personality who reached the pinnacle position of Vogue editor. After such an illustrious career in fashion, it was only right that the fashion world took this weekend to pay tribute to and honor the life and legacy of the one and only André Leon Talley.

The attendees included former Vogue creative director Grace Coddington and global editorial director of Vogue Anna Wintour, as well as other fashion icons including Kate Moss and Marc Jacobs. Supermodel Naomi Campbell attended as a speaker at the memorial and wore an elaborate all white look that channelled an angelic image through the monochromatic coloring and the feathered details.

The memorial not only honored Talley’s contribution to fashion but also his character, paying tribute to the life he lived and the people he touched. Despite their strained relationship following Talley’s Vogue contract coming to an end, Anna Wintour shared personal anecdotes of their fond relationship such as Talley flying to England to attend Wintour’s mother’s funeral with her.
