André Leon Talley Calls Vogue’s Anna Wintour ‘Ruthless’ In New Memoir
The Ex-’Vogue’ Editor claims she is ‘not capable of human kindness’
André Leon Talley has dished some mega fashion dirt in his new memoir ‘The Chiffon Trenches.’ The fashion journalist speaks of many interesting experiences throughout his time in the industry, including his friendship with Vogue’s editor in chief Anna Wintour.
He refers to her as “The Empress Wintour”, calling her “ruthless’ and someone who is ‘not capable of human kindness’. Discussing in detail why their friendship ended, Talley speaks of the huge emotional and psychological scars he has from his relationship with her, that’s deep.
“She is immune to anyone other than the powerful and famous people who populate the pages of Vogue. She has mercilessly made her best friends people who are the highest in their chosen fields.”
Since the start of their fashion friendship in 1983, after he landed a job at Vogue, Talley mentions that he felt mistreated and believes he was taken advantage of over the years, the result was him quitting the role, but to then be recruited as editor-at-large sometime after.
Wintour has yet to respond to these accusations and comments in his new memoir and even though Talley really has thrown Wintour under the bus here, he says that not a day goes by that he doesn’t think of her, in hopes that one day she will find a way to apologize to him before he dies.
Talk about intense, we’re keeping our eyes peeled on what “The Empress Wintour” has to say about all this...
