No One Did Fashion Like 2000s Britney Spears

A deep dive into Britney Spears’ wildest, most worshipped 2000s fashion moments.

Years go by, and Britney Spears remains the princess of pop. From ‘‘Oops! I Did It Again’’ to ‘‘Gimme More,’’ the singer spearheaded the rise of post-millennial teen pop at a very young age in a highly competitive environment. From having Madonna posters on her bedroom walls, she suddenly became the figure on other girls' posters.

With dance-pop songs, exceptional performances and catchy rhythms, Spears has become a cult figure and still attracts a loyal fan base to this day – be it with the emergence of the movement #FreeBritney as a symbol of the battle against tutelage of female figures in entertainment industries, the recent announcement of a biopic movie in the works, her highly acclaimed memoir ‘‘The Woman in Me,’’ figures like Hailey Bieber, Tyra Banks, Olivia Rodrigo, Addison Rae, and Blake Lively paying tribute to her outfits, series such as ‘‘Ginny and Georgia’’ and ‘‘Glee’’ referencing her, and the popularity of her authentic Instagram account.

But beyond her achievements in the music industry, pop culture and our society, she also has a background in other fields – such as cinema, starring in Tamra Davis’ movie ‘‘Crossroads,’’ and, of course, fashion. With Juicy Couture velvet tracksuits, low-waisted pants, and glittery dresses, Spears' style, like her musical legacy, became an enduring symbol of the 2000s. Credited as the princess of pop, she’s a fashion icon in her own right – be it for her street style, red carpet looks, or stage costumes that still amaze fashionistas to this day.

Ahead, Fizzy has rounded up some of the pop princess's most iconic looks from the 2000s – so, you're ready to be smitten.
