We’re hot under our latex collars.

The Grammy Awards in 2023 saw history being made. Kim Petras has become the first-ever transgender woman to win the 'Best Pop Duo' award for her feature on Sam Smith's chart-topper' Unholy.' Smith urged Kim Petras to accept this award on behalf of them both, as she reveals in her speech, since she is the first transgender woman to have ever won it. In the said speech, she paid homage to her late friend Sophie, for inspiring her to climb to the heights of success that she has reached today. Petras, Smith, and their dancers, including RuPaul's Drag Race alum Violet Chachki and Gottmik, were all kitted out for the ceremony in the same fiery, red hue, courtesy of Valentino. Petras was wearing a puff-skirt mini dress with a red veil, while Smith was in a top hat paired with a flowing, floor-length jacket featuring an eye-catching, exaggerated collar.

'Unholy' was performed live at the award show. The performance itself included fire features, a giant cage, and an outfit change (cue a lot of latex). Smith was in a latex bodysuit with a different top hat with two horns poking out of it, while Petras was in a fiery red mini dress with elbow-high gloves. Violet Chachki and Gottmik were in red latex bodysuits with chain and grommet detailing, emphasizing their devil-horned headpieces and accompanying chin straps. The provocative and sensual nature of the performance was reflected in the outfits worn while also highlighting the pop duo's sex and body-positive attitudes. The Grammys portrayed great progression in this year's award ceremony. Seeing so many queer artists being accoladed in the mainstream view was fantastic, and we are so excited to see what comes next. Also, where can we get ourselves outfits like these?
