UNDERCOVER x Melissa Announces Their Second Collaboration
For the love of jelly shoes.
Dropping on April 24th, UNDERCOVER by Jun Takahashi is teaming up with the Brazilian footwear label Melissa yet again. Founded in 1994 in Japan, UNDERCOVER has strong acclaim amongst streetwear fanatics. Melissa, established in 1979, has a mission of transforming plastic into wearable pieces and is known for their iconic jelly sandals.
A seamless blend of the brands’ unconventional styles, UNDERCOVER x Melissa takes inspiration from the punk movement and street culture to create never-seen-before styles.
Aligning with Melissa’s legendary history, UNDERCOVER x Melissa heavily utilizes the jelly shoe style. In their past collaboration, this was in the form of sandals and boots in colors of red, green, beige, blue, and black. For their second collection, the brands will be focusing on eclectic and natural tones including bold pinks and blues and neutral golds and browns.
UNDERCOVER x Melissa will be maintaining their spiky punk style with their Spikes Sandal, which features elements such as PVC thorns and studs. Also included in the collaboration are a heeled clog and jelly oxford shoes, some of which will be incorporating a sheer material for a see-through style.
Transforming Melissa’s innovative jelly silhouettes with an UNDERCOVER touch, the shoe line is sure to have an edgy look. The three styles will be released at UNDERCOVER shops throughout Japan and at select Melissa locations. The collaboration will be available online at both retailers.
