Classic Italian design and a bold new color.

Gucci is making headlines again, but it's not just about fashion this time. At the prestigious Salone del Mobile in Milan, Gucci's creative director, Sabato De Sarno, has unveiled an eye-catching home decor line under the banner 'Gucci Design Ancora'. This new venture introduces a striking Rosso Ancora red hue to a selection of Italian design classics.

The collection features a meticulously curated selection of design icons, each steeped in Italian history and now reborn in a vibrant hue that's as daring as it is elegant. Among the re-edited masterpieces are the "Storet" cherry wood chest of drawers, originally designed by Nanda Vigo for Acerbis in 1994, and the "Parola" table lamp, a creation by Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni for FontanaArte dating back to 1980.

The initiative is a celebration of Italian craftsmanship and Gucci's commitment to aesthetic innovation. De Sarno's choice of Rosso Ancora red revitalizes these historical pieces and challenges conventional design norms. The project co-curated by Michela Pelizzari aims to blend the boundaries between fashion and functional art, creating pieces that stand as individual statements of style and sophistication.

Staged at the Gucci flagship store in Milan's Golden Triangle, the exhibition has been crafted by Spanish architect Guillermo Santomà. The display eschews traditional layouts for a more dynamic, immersive experience. Pieces are set against curved walls painted in a complementary green, emphasizing the bold red of the furniture and creating a striking visual contrast.
