Savage x Fenty Hits The Gym With New Sportswear Line
Activewear just got a lot more sexy.
Cult-favorite lingerie brand Savage x Fenty is branching out into a new market: sportswear. Known for creating inclusive lingerie that is designed to make everyone feel good—regardless of size, gender or shape—it seems like the label is now bringing that same goal into activewear. The announcement of this new venture dropped recently via Rihanna’s instagram account and immediately garnered immense support.
The collection is meant to be a collaboration between Rihanna and designer Adam Selman—an experienced collaborator with the singer. While the performance wear is meant to be fitting for a workout, the pieces are also designed to be comfortable while lounging around the house or while performing typical day-to-day activities. The eye catching pieces come with a mix of mesh paneling, unique cutouts, fishnet inspired leggings, and bold prints.
“It’s a perfect marriage of lingerie-inspired activewear that isn’t like anything else on the market,” Selman told Vogue. “We wanted to create something unique and bold that can speak to the existing customers, but also open up a whole new realm of possibilities for us.”
As one of the most size inclusive lingerie brands on the market, the activewear line has mirrored the broad size options and will be available from sizes XS to 4X. In anticipation of the upcoming collection, the label has spotlighted some of the pieces by bringing in well known faces such as model Precious Lee, beauty content creator Avani Gregg, ballet dancer Elsa Stallings, model Joanna Pauline, roller skater Ayasha and martial artist Nelita Villezon.
The announcement of the new sportswear line comes right after the recent release of the premiere date for the anticipated fourth volume of the Savage x Fenty fashion show. The show is set to premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime on Nov. 9. The new sportswear line will be available to shop also on Nov. 9 on Savagex.com.
