Kim Kardashian Credits Kanye West For Conceptualizing Her Skincare Line
Turns out Ye is responsible for naming and packaging SKKN By Kim.
While celebrating the launch of SKKN, Kim Kardashian admitted to her ex-husband’s influence behind-the-scenes. The reality star took to Instagram to suggest that her “creative process wouldn’t have been complete” without Kanye West.
“He brought his team and introduced me to Willo [Perron, a designer] and came up with the new name. That was actually his idea. And the packaging shapes were his and even the fonts he did - just like SKIMS,” Kardashian said on her Stories.
She went on to reveal the original mood boards that inspired her skincare line’s packaging. Each featured images of stone sculptures and abstract pieces from her own home.
"You guys should have seen the first set of packaging [...] Kanye walked in the room and was like, 'This is not it,’ and he was right,” Kardashian recalled. “Packaging is definitely his thing."
Earlier this year, the Skims founder discontinued both KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance in the hopes of a rebrand. SKKN By Kim, a refillable nine-piece skincare range, was released on Tuesday, marking Kardashian’s reemergence in the beauty industry.
Kardashian and West married in 2014, sharing four children together. Though she filed for divorce in 2021, West continues to lend a hand in Kardashian’s entrepreneurial endeavors. And she isn’t trying to hide it. “I always give credit where credit is due,” the model declared.
