If Your Love Is Burning You Down, Listen To RALPH
Her single ‘Gasoline’ is a perfect depiction of this feeling.
RALPH, a Toronto-based pop artist, never wanted to release this song because it felt too vulnerable. Created four years ago, during a songwriting camp in Nicaragua, ‘Gasoline’ reminded her of a time when she was deeply submerged in her feelings. To the extent that she thought that nobody should ever love her because she will burn them down. Thankfully though, her friends and family saved ‘Gasoline’ from, as she calls it, 'the song cemetery,' and finally, after four years, the single is out in the world.
‘Gasoline’ is an anthemic and heartrending song which showcases RALPH’s multitalent as a flawless pop diva on the one hand and a highly sensitive on the other. The single could easily belong to the repertoire of stars such as Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis or Celine Dion.
Lyrically, the song unfolds a story about longing and desperation – very private, yet extremely relatable.‘I’ve never felt so connected or attached to a song in my life,’ RALPH shares.
‘Gasoline’ follows the release of her fall 2021 EP ‘Gradience’ and comes ahead of her North American tour with stops in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. Her New York show at Mercury Lounge will also be available to livestream here.
