All the Best Looks from the Met Gala After Party
What is the one thing that is better than the first Monday in May? The morning after the first Monday in May.
This year’s Met Gala was filled to the brim with elaborate and eccentric looks with the theme of ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’ bringing looks that honored America’s rich history of fashion to the steps of the Met. However, when the ball came to a close the Gilded Glamour dress code was stripped with many celebrities losing their corsets and full-length gowns and opting for more risqué looks.
Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner proved that the best things do come in threes as the trio donned lingerie-inspired looks to the after-party. Bella wore custom Dilara Findìkoglu that was giving ‘Pirates of the Caribbean-Chic’. The gothic look featured lace and corsetry and acted as a continuation of Hadid’s all-black corseted Burberry Met Gala look earlier that evening. Kendall Jenner opted for a sheer lace skirt and top co-ord by Miu MIu that she layered over nude underwear in her usual effortlessly chic way. However, my personal favorite look of the three was Hailey Bieber. Hailey wore Saint Laurent pairing a crystal bralette under an oversized blazer and completed the look with some little black hot pants. The look was perfected with a sleeked back bun and some thin oval sunglasses with a pop of color in the form of red heels.
Another look that channelled the unwritten theme of sheer lingerie was Addison Rae’s. The TikTok star also donned a look by Turkish designer Dilara Findìkoglu, opting for a full-length sheer gown with a gaping slash across the chest that was reminiscent of Kendall Jenner’s famous 2017 Met Gala La Perda gown.
Laura Harrier was among the internet’s favorite Met Gala looks with her H&M gown epitomizing the dress code of Gilded Glamour. However, the Spider-Man actress did not stop there; her after party look was equally as stunning. Harrier was glowing in a vibrant purple mini dress by Khaite. The delicately draped look hung perfectly across the dress’s exaggerated silhouette and was able to take the spotlight by being accessorized perfectly with dainty jewelry and barely-there heels.
And last but most certainly not least is Anok Yai, my personal favorite look from this year’s Met Gala, who stripped down from the elaborate hot-pink gown she wore earlier in the evening into a stunning Dario Princiotta corset.
Dario Princiotta took to Instagram to share the look and described it as “Freshly made custom corsetbody of chocolate draped lame fabric. The fabric is meticulously draped over a boned foundation to perfectly embrace and enhance it!”
