5 Unique Couple’s Costume Ideas

Spooky season is just a little over a month away and if you’re in a relationship, it comes the time of the year to wonder about whether or not a couple costume might be the move. Sure, it can feel a bit anxiety-provoking to be so official, but it’s also a great way to see both you and your partner’s creative thought process and what they see as a good symbol to your relationship. Instead of sticking to the more basic ideas and idealized couples in pop culture, try to have some fun with it!

1. Bonnie and Clyde 

Bonnie and Clyde’s story shouldn’t be the goal, but after a Spring filled with ‘Mob Wife Aesthetics’, it certainly has a bit of a ring to it. The costume is also unique, giving you and your partner a bit of an edge in any costume competition.

If neither of you happen to be into the blood and gore of the Halloween season, play with the couple's costume idea of going as Greek Gods and Goddesses. A favorite couple’s costume for those who love a good 2000s rom-com is a Mr & Mrs. Smith look based on the movie with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. For him wear a suit, for her embrace the bias-cut black dress with a slit and maybe add in a costume knife for a bit of extra spice. 

5. Jackie Kennedy + JFK 

Honestly, we’d give bonus points if you came as Jackie and Marilyn. But for the sake of history, A Jackie and JFK look would be so stunning, and particularly apt given the politically charged atmosphere in the U.S.
