Fashion For Festivals – Four Stunning Aesthetic Visions For Your Summer Celebrations

Because if you’re not going hard, you might as well go home.

POSTED BY CHARLOTTE MALONEY

There’s at least a month of summer left, which leaves enough time to squeeze in a cheeky festival before the grey sky takeover. If you’ve secured your ticket, you’re probably weighing up outfit ideas – luckily, I’ve done the legwork for you, so that endless, sweaty afternoon traipsing around town you had planned won’t be necessary. I’ve whittled it down to four of the most effective outfit concepts, so no matter your festival of choice, you’ll be a showstopper.

Boho Chick

Nothing says quintessential festival wear like flowing fabrics and arm bangles. Emulate a ‘70s boho woman with a white tie-front top with bell sleeves and a long, loose, patterned skirt. Flat sandals or chunky heel ankle boots complete this look, along with a tassel headband and beachy waves. It’s ridiculously comfortable, so you won’t be distracted by anything falling down, digging in or riding up when you should be dancing your cares away.

Britpop Babe

With Oasis touring, Britpop fashion is back in business. Channel your inner Gallagher with a polo t-shirt, a denim skirt and a bucket hat to look both understated and undeniably cool. To add a subtle feminine note, try some gold hoop earrings and makeup that matches the colour palette of the t-shirt. Plimsols or trainers compliment this style, not to mention the beer can in hand.

Gothic Siren

It’s giving Morticia in a heatwave, and we’re obsessed. A long black slit dress with fishnets is witch-coded while sexy, and bottle green Doc Martens and black shades really top it off, as well as – although this really goes without saying – dark purple or black lipstick. It doesn’t have to be heavy velvet – there are plenty of breathable fabrics available, so don’t worry about overheating. If you want to be a little less Download and a little more Coachella, jazz it up with a half-up half-down hairdo incorporating space buns.

Glittering Goddess

Festivals call for glamour, and what’s more glamorous than an outfit covered in sequins, sparkling brilliantly in the sun? Whether it’s a mini dress, a two-piece or even a bolero thrown over a tank top, you’re sure to give off mermaid vibes with this ensemble. To extend the sequin theme, brighten up your cheeks with some stick-on glitter. For footwear, Converses would ground the outfit, and chunky trainers would be practical while also harking back to the ‘90s.

If you'd prefer a variation on any of these looks, by all means tailor it to whatever feels best for you!

So, now you’re truly spoiled for choice, what look are you rocking at your next festival?
