Sophie-lou Debuts With A Love Letter Of Heavenly Distortion

A choir girl falls into the abyss and brings us with her.

Copenhagen’s newest sonic alchemist, sophie-lou, isn’t just releasing a debut single — she’s dropping a revelation. ‘I will love you till I die’ (out June 13 via Virgin Records) is a fearless, grief-soaked love letter born from loss, bursting with raw emotion and cosmic ambition. Written in the thick of heartbreak and new love, it’s a grandiose alt-pop hymn where distorted guitars crash against 73 choral layers and the air crackles with reverence.

“This song was both simple and necessary,” she says. “It’s a declaration to those I love — something we should all say more often, before it’s too late.” The result? A surreal, heart-thumping track that sounds like the sky breaking open.

Binaural Beauty, Choir Girl Chaos

Raised on jazz and trained in Denmark’s iconic National Girls’ Choir, sophie-lou blends her choral past with ambient textures, electronic experimentation, and rock intensity. The single feels intimate and epic all at once — thanks in part to binaural recording techniques that mimic human hearing, giving ‘I will love you till I die’ its otherworldly presence.

Produced by the artist herself, mixed by Nanna Schannong (Lowly) and mastered by Alma Hede, the track marks the arrival of Sofie Emilie Maintz Thorsen — a voice that carries memory, mourning, and desire in one breath. And yes, there’s more music on the horizon.
