Sephora Announces Its New Collaboration With Complex
The next destination for beauty content is coming.
While YouTube famously holds a collection of beauty channels and makeup content, a new platform will soon enter the beauty space. Complex (a BuzzFeed-owned media collective) is set to partner with Sephora for a content collaboration. According to Snobette, over six weeks, Complex will create editorials and videos that will cover topics such as beauty moments in hip hop and protective hairstyles. Some content will even divulge the personal beauty and style journeys of Complex employees.
In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Abigail Jacobs (Sephora’s senior vice president of marketing) commented that Sephora has a “commitment to [its] diverse brands and [its] diverse audience” and sees Complex as a voice “working to uplift communities of color.” Since Sephora also views Complex as an “incredible destination for style” the connection between style and beauty seemed like a natural progression and opportunity for both organizations.
