Sandy Liang's Favorite Ribbon Just Became A Nail Polish

A pretty natural next chapter

POSTED BY ZOE TYLER

There are few things more Sandy Liang than turning a tiny, hyper-specific detail into something you suddenly need in your life.

Now, the designer's signature soft blue ribbon has officially become a nail polish. Celisse has teamed up with Sandy Liang on “Ribbon,” a limited-edition pearl blue shade inspired by the satin ribbons that have become one of the brand's most recognizable little details.

And I can already see the manicure.

It's Basically Sandy Liang in a Bottle

“Ribbon” isn't some random shade of blue that happened to make it onto a collaboration. The color was inspired by the soft blue satin ribbon that keeps appearing throughout Sandy Liang's collections, from clothing details to the ties used on the brand's shopping bags.

It's the kind of tiny detail that makes a collaboration feel much more personal. Instead of slapping two logos onto a product and calling it a day, Celisse and Liang took something already living inside the Sandy Liang universe and turned it into something you can actually wear.

On your nails, this time.

The Polish Already Had Its Runway Moment

Here's the fun part: “Ribbon” isn't appearing out of nowhere.

The shade first debuted backstage at Sandy Liang's Fall/Winter 2026 show before becoming a standalone polish. Celisse co-founder and creative director Holly Falcone has also led nails backstage at Sandy Liang shows for the past 15 seasons, so this collaboration has some serious history behind it.

After that many seasons together, a nail polish feels like a pretty natural next chapter.

Yes, I'm Thinking About the Manicure Already

That pearl blue is doing a lot of work. It's soft without disappearing, playful without becoming childish, and just unusual enough to make a simple manicure feel intentional.

I'd wear it with tiny bows, sheer tights, an oversized sweater, or absolutely nothing else going on. Sometimes the nail color gets to be the entire personality.

Especially when it looks like a satin ribbon.

Celisse Is Keeping It Fast

Like the rest of Celisse's lineup, “Ribbon” is designed to dry in around 90 seconds, and the brand says its formula supports nail growth.

Which is convenient because I have approximately zero patience for sitting around carefully protecting a manicure from my own existence.

The Sandy Liang Girl Has Her Blue

“Ribbon” launches September 24 for $25 and will be available through Celisse's website and at Sandy Liang's Orchard Street store.

It's a tiny collaboration, a tiny bottle, and a very specific shade of blue. But that's exactly why it works.

Sometimes the best fashion collaborations don't need to reinvent anything. They just take one little detail you already associate with a designer and let you wear it a different way. In this case, that detail happens to be sitting right on your fingertips.
