The megastar teases her upcoming new single via social media.

The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived: Rihanna is returning to music after a six-year-long hiatus since her last music venture. For the past six years, the megastar has focused primarily on her billion-dollar business ventures, including the beauty industry juggernaut Fenty BeautyFenty Skin, and her renowned lingerie/loungewear clothing line Savage X Fenty. The pop icon even found new love with her partner A$AP Rocky and had a baby boy with her rapper beau just earlier this year, so it's safe to say Riri has had her plate quite full during her break from music.

Despite her immense professional and personal success throughout her music hiatus, Rihanna's fans (known as the Rihanna Navy) have been pressuring the pop star to release new music since as early as 2018. Finally, it got to the point where fans decided to surrender and accept that Riri would return to making and releasing music whenever she felt ready.

However, as of yesterday, Rihanna has officially announced that her return to the music industry will commence this week. Through an Instagram post of a simple visual of the letter "R" with the date of release of the song (October 28, 2022) as well as the title, "Lift Me Up," Riri set the social media stratosphere ablaze with everyone geeking out over her return to music. "Lift Me Up" will be a part of the Black Panther sequel "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," which is set for a November 9 release.

This could be just the tip of the iceberg for the music that is to come from Rihanna since her Super Bowl Halftime Performance will be coming in early February at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Fans are predicting that Rihanna will take this opportunity of exposure to the Super Bowl Halftime Show to release new music ahead of her performance, as has been done by several Super Bowl Halftime performers in the past. So all we can do for now is be grateful for the release of "Lift Me Up" and keep our fingers crossed that we get fed with more new music from Riri very shortly!
