Miley Cyrus has officially announced her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, set to drop on May 30, 2025. The reveal follows a global teaser campaign that kicked off on March 17, 2025, with cryptic posters appearing worldwide. On March 24, she confirmed the album’s visual nature with an Instagram post, featuring cover art that showcases her in archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture, setting the tone for what promises to be her most ambitious project yet.

Inspired by The Wall and Mandy

Cyrus describes Something Beautiful as an experimental, psychedelic experience inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall and the 2018 cult film Mandy. She has been vocal about her desire to create an album that not only sounds good but physically impacts listeners, claiming it will contain healing sound properties meant to alter frequencies and enhance emotional connection.

A Bold Visual and Sonic Experience

The album is co-executive produced by Cyrus and Shawn Everett, known for his work with Kacey Musgraves and Alabama Shakes. Contributions from Maxx Morando, her boyfriend and collaborator, are also expected. The visual component is led by Panos Cosmatos, the filmmaker behind Mandy, suggesting dark, cinematic, and surreal storytelling.
