LOEWE Appoints Jamie Dornan As Global Ambassador
A new era in men’s fashion.
January brings Loewe to another level as the brand has recently appointed a new Global Ambassador, none other than Irish actor Jamie Dornan.
Dornan is no stranger to the world of Loewe, having previously featured in several campaigns for the luxury brand. In anticipation of Loewe's upcoming Spring/Summer 2024 Men’s campaign set to debut on January 12, the acclaimed actor, nominated for a Golden Globe, has been captured by British photographer David Sims.
Regarding Dornan’s latest role as an ambassador, Jonathan Anderson, Loewe’s Creative Director, expressed, “After closely observing Jamie’s cinematic endeavors, he immediately came to mind when we were contemplating a new ambassador for Loewe."
In an Instagram post, LOEWE declared, “We extend a warm welcome to actor Jamie Dornan, our newest Global Brand Ambassador.”
For LOEWE’s FW23 men’s campaign, Dornan shares the spotlight with Omar Apollo, both showcasing the collection’s trench coats and cardigans in a vibrant photo shoot.
Dornan gained recognition for portraying Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy and earned a Golden Globe nomination for his supporting role in the film "Belfast.”
Loewe, established in 1846 and recognized as one of the oldest luxury brands globally, is renowned for its high-end products such as the Loewe Amazona and the iconic Puzzle bag.
The brand has a rich history of supplying the Royal House of Spain with meticulously crafted items using only premium materials.
The company's origins trace back to 1846 when Spanish leather craftsmen in Madrid were joined by Enrique Loewe, a merchant of Hessian origin. Throughout the 20th Century, Loewe gained favor among notable individuals, including Queen Victoria Eugenie. By the 1970s, Loewe expanded its offerings to include perfumes and fashion, introducing the iconic Loewe anagram logo designed by Spanish painter Vicente Vela. Jonathan Anderson assumed the role of Loewe's creative director in 2013.
Jamie Dornan's appointment as LOEWE's face marks a significant moment in men's fashion, honoring Loewe’s heritage. The Irish actor brings a fresh dynamic to the luxury brand, impacting not only the world of entertainment but also signaling a broader shift in redefining masculinity in fashion.
LOEWE's choice challenges stereotypes, emphasizing that men, like women, play a pivotal role in shaping high-end fashion and promoting a more expansive and inclusive vision of men's fashion.
