Vintage Fairs and Markets
One of the best ways to get into record collecting and vintage aesthetic in general is by visiting vintage fairs. Many vintage fairs and markets travel and can be found with a quick google, they are much more common than you'd think, and records usually come surprisingly cheap!
Singles
Buying singles is a great way to get started! Most record shops will have a section devoted to singles usually selling for around 99¢ each! Not only is this a great way of starting or expanding your collection, its also a great way of discovering new music and artists for less than a dollar!
Small Locally Owned Record Shops
Your local shops will usually sell records for much cheaper than big chains in order to compete. They also often sell second hand which means you get a good quality vinyl for half of the price. This is also a great way of showing support for your local high street and small businesses which is essential after the pandemic.
Trade
Trading records is not only a good way of getting some cheap records or rare finds, it’s a great way of meeting people. Depop, Facebook marketplace, Vinted and social media is just a few of the places selling affordable records, just make sure to stay safe and always use a way of sending money that is refundable, such as PayPal! You can also trade on these sites, wither with an old record you no longer need or anything else really!
