Guess Who Is Back In The Limelight For Being Controversial

Yup, James Charles. The YouTube star recently lost over 100k after posting his tuck.

James Charles himself claimed that he has lost thousands of followers thanks to his tuck, unapologetically stating ‘I’m so sorry y’all are boring, u will not be missed’.

For those of you who either haven’t seen the post or just simply know what a tuck is let’s get to that first. As famously seen in Drag Race, tucking is technique drag queens, non-binary and trans women often use to flatten and pull the penis and testicles backwards to avoid a crotch bulge. It is arguably something which is widely accepted nowadays as a means of looking for feminine without, well, life altering and probably very painful surgery. So why the backlash over James Charles using it?

For those of us who follow/followed James on Instagram I am sure you have recently seen the recent plethora of posts of James and his friends essentially celebrating swimsuit season. The controversy however exploded from one post in which the makeup artist shimmied and twerked by his pool in a bright, stylish one piece. View at your own risk.

With the video not leaving much to the imagination of viewers, it quickly blew up with comments about the influencers supposed BBL and the absence of a crotch bulge. The gossip about the YouTubers BBL is definitely not something new, with viewers speculating for a while now that he had the surgery done. The main shock is the chances of James undergoing a penis removal.

Comments consisted of things such as: ‘it’s the perfect tuck for me’, ‘where his pp at?’ and ‘that BBL BBLing’.

In response to the speculations people were openly expressing, James of course took to his Instagram stories to shut them down immediately. And let’s just say if he would have just stated that the rumours are false, we are sure that would have been enough for everyone, but no James felt it best to provide proof. He apparently shared a photo of him in the middle of the tucking process. If TMI could be expressed in an image it is definitely that.

Aaaand who would have guessed it… that did not go down too well with his followers. Followers implored him to ‘delete this’ and ‘PLEASE STOP’. This even went further than just Instagram with Twitter users even begging others to ‘stop putting James Charles tucking himself on my tl’.

As James then returned to his Instagram the influencer had reportedly ‘lost 80,000 followers today for posting that tucking story’. Since then, it has been reported that this has now increased to 140,000.

We are on the fence about this controversy. Is it just because it was James Charles that it didn’t go down well or would it have been the same with everyone? Either way I hope every influencer out there has learnt the extremely important life lesson, if you want to keep your followers maybe don’t overshare.
