Morphe Terminates Business Relationship With James Charles

The years-long partnership ends after a number of allegations come forward.

Morphe, popular makeup brand, has announced their decision to end their long-standing business relationship with beauty influencer, James Charles. The decision comes after several allegations come forward accusing Charles of sexual misconduct and sending inappropriate messages to minors.

“In light of the recent allegations against James Charles, Morphe and James have agreed to end our business relationship and wind down sales of the Morphe x James Charles product offering,” said Morphe in a statement posted to their Twitter page.

Morphe also stated its goal to achieve a “positive, safe, and empowering space” for its customers and the makeup community.

While Charles had addressed the scandal and accusations a couple of weeks prior on a YouTube video, titled “holding myself accountable,” the pressure from the public was enough to lead Morphe and Charles to make the mutual agreement to part ways.

“The stories have caused many of my long-term partners to receive considerable negative feedback, one of them being Morphe,” said Charles in a statement posted on his Twitter page. “I reached out to them and we mutually agreed to wind down our James Charles x Morphe collaboration.”

Charles has formally addressed two of the accusations, saying he initially believed the “few individuals” to be over the age of 18 but that he cut communication with the boys as soon as he found out their true ages. Many more accusations have come forth, for which he had to say, “My legal team has begun taking action against those that have spread misinformation and/or created completely fake stories, as this has gone too far.”
