Exclusive Squid Game Kokeshi Doll Collection at Lucca Comics & Games

Celebrating season 2 launch.

POSTED BY ZOE TYLER

In celebration of Squid Game’s return, design house Lucie Kaas is partnering with Netflix to launch a limited-edition Squid Game Kokeshi doll collection, set for an exclusive debut at Lucca Comics & Games 2024. The collection, crafted by South-London artist Becky Kemp, captures the essence of the global phenomenon and merges it with traditional Kokeshi craftsmanship.

This exclusive release coincides with Netflix’s immersive Squid Game pavilion at Lucca Comics, one of the largest pop culture festivals globally, where attendees can experience the show’s world up close. The event serves as a kickoff to the countdown for Squid Game Season 2, which is set to premiere globally on Netflix on December 26, 2024.

Squid Game’s unforgettable visuals—from the iconic pink suits and geometric masks of the guards to the signature green tracksuits of the players—are echoed throughout this collection, offering fans a unique way to connect with the series. Lucie Kaas’ Kokeshi dolls bring to life fan-favorite characters, including:

Young-hee

The ominous doll from the "Red Light, Green Light" game, depicted in her classic orange dress and pigtails

Player 456, Seong Gi-hun

The central character, clad in his green tracksuit, embodying his tumultuous journey

The "O" Guard

"We loved collaborating with Netflix on this exciting collection, and launching it at Lucca Comics is the perfect way to connect with fans," said Esben Gravlev Rasmussen, founder and creative director of Lucie Kaas. "We’ve aimed to capture the essence of Squid Game in a way that resonates with both design enthusiasts and fans of the series."

Alongside the Kokeshi doll collection, the Squid Game pavilion at Lucca Comics will feature life-sized installations and interactive experiences, allowing fans an immersive dive into the world of Squid Game.

For attendees at Lucca Comics 2024, this collection marks a rare opportunity to access these collectibles before their wider release through select retailers and online at Luciekaas.com. Don’t miss out on this exclusive opportunity to own a piece of Squid Game history, available only to visitors as part of this special celebration of the series.
