‘Squid Game’ Director Is Working On New ‘More Violent’ Project
Hwang Dong-hyuk reveals working title is Killing Old People Club.
During a session at MipTV, director Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed he is working on a new film under the working title Killing Old People Club. “It will be more violent than Squid Game,” he told other event attendees, adding he might have to hide from old people.
Killing Old People Club is inspired by Umberto Eco, an Italian intellectual and essayist. Eco is known for his best-selling novels including ‘The Name of the Rose’ and ‘A Theory of Semiotics.’
The Squid Game director is in South Korea writing the second season of the Netflix hit. Hwang Dong-hyuk hopes to have the show on Netflix by the end of 2024. For now, you can enjoy Silenced, Miss Granny, and The Fortress, all titles by Dong-hyuk on Netflix.
