BBC’s Eurovision Fashion Fluster
When your outfit Is just too convincing.
Eurovision is now in full swing in Liverpool, UK, which means the English city is eccentrically electric with the competition’s fans. Admirers of the show have come from all over Europe to watch the competitors perform and support their home countries.
And with all these superfans come some sensational styles. In fact, some fans have gone so full-on with their outfits that they have replicated the whimsical fits of the stage performers. And one fan had clearly smashed the look of Finland’s entrant, Käärijä.
The ‘Cha Cha Cha’ singer Käärijä has been performing in an iconic neon green puffer sleeve outfit, embellished with punk spikes. The look is noticeable and striking, and otherwise, very unique. However, with fans replicating the showstopping styles, there appears to be more than one Käärijä hitting the streets of Liverpool this week- according to the BBC anyway.
A BBC reporter had thought she’d struck gold by bumping into Käärijä on the street earlier this week while live on-air. However, the man in question just turned out to be a superfan of the Finland representative. The fan got his 15 seconds of fame on the BBC and Eurovision fans on Twitter thought the mistake was brilliant. So, all around, some good tv and pop culture was created.
