As the Ukraine invasion continues into its second week, businesses, organizations, and brands around the world are beginning to speak out against Russia. Moreover, several fashion designers and luxury conglomerates are showing support through donations and boycotting Russian revenue streams.

Balenciaga was the first Paris Fashion Week brand to speak out about the crisis. The brand said it  “would open our platforms in the next few days to report and relay the information around the situation in Ukraine.” Balenciaga also donated to the World Food Programme to help Ukrainian refugees.

Giorgio Armani was one of the few designers to show solidarity on the catwalk. The Italian luxury fashion house held their show in silence. Gucci, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, and Bottega Veneta have also shown support to Ukraine.

Vogue Marketing Director Marusya Koval told Vogue Business in a statement “The fashion industry needs to stand up. Stop trading – stop supplying Russia. Stop your relationships with Russia,” in a statement.
