The choice of setting the collection show in Rome comes as a result of this city’s breathtaking beauty, historical nature, and as a tribute to the strong cultural ties that the designer brand has always shared with Italy since its founding in 1946. Because this city is creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s birthplace, the decision is also reflective of her nostalgia for and personal relationship to Rome. It’s ‘the city closest to her heart,’ according to the newspaper Fashion Network.
