Birkin-Inspired Luxury: Common Threads Of 2024 Handbags
From texture to color here are the common 2024 hangbag trends.
From bedazzles to over-stuffed, luxury bags are inspired by the late Jane Birkin, a former British actress and singer. She was not just iconic for her acting, but the way she used a birken bag of $25,000 plus, stuffing it with trinkets and her day-to-day needs and, newspapers.
Handbags from the walks of Prada, Ferragamo, and Gucci, have all taken the minimal approach to design but showcased handbags with a cluttered sensibility. Designers truly embraced the dressing-up box.
Miu Miu
Miu Miu is pushing the trend with bags stuffed with orange socks, folded jeans, metallic heels, and neon lanyards. Most models wore their bags cradled under their arms as if running for the metro. This gave the runway an atmosphere of electric whirlwind.
Gucci
Sabato de Sarno, while not showcasing stuffed, the bags were sleek but glamorous with a touch of whimsy, in delectable cherry and the monogram print of double G’s.
Loewe
JW Anderson used bags as decoration, creating more ostentation, these bags are beautifully constructed, and their famous Squeeze handbag is inspired by jewellery. This also lies true for Bottega Veneta, their bags had very sculptural handles.
Common Thread
Their common thread all lies in color, from sculpture, design and cutter, red is prevalent within all 2024 catwalks, in fiery chili and tomato shades.
Thanks to Valentino and Alexander McQueen, the reds will still be very healthily debuted on celebrities.
