Addison Rae’s Style Evolution: From TikTok Teen to Fashion Icon
From hoodies to high fashion: Addison Rae’s ultimate style glow-up.
It’s 2020, and you hear the name Addison Rae? You think: another influencer, another TikToker. Today? I hear Addison Rae, and I think, modern style icon. But the reason I truly believe this is because: Addison’s style evolution proves that fashion isn’t about perfection. Rather, it’s about experimenting, having fun, and feeling confident.

The Early Days: The Relatable Girl
I remember when she first popped up on my TikTok feed: oversized tie-dyed hoodies, blue denim shorts, messy buns. The energy gave “I just threw this on.” It felt real, like she was one of us, and honestly, quite refreshing to see. Her style was about comfort, ease, and trying new things.
Let’s face it, in 2020, we were all wearing our camo trouser pants, cropped graphic tees, paired with our beloved Nike Dunks, just like Addison! Everyone was dyeing the front two stands of their hair, the world was transitioning from skinny jeans to flares, and Addison totally embodied all of this, whilst still feeling like a relatable 19-year-old girl.

Stepping into the Spotlight
Fast forward a few years, and Addison’s style has completely changed, and in many ways, so has ours. As we grow up, so does our style. Her fashion evolution kind of mirrors that post-lockdown shift that we all felt: moving away from loungewear (that we were practically living in), to something more individual and meaningful.
There was a time when the Diet Pepsi singer became bolder with her streetwear outfits. To me, that truly marked the start of a new fashion era, not just for Addison, but for all of us.
Leather jackets, micro mini hot pants, Uggs, and some Y2K vintage Dior sunglasses. What I loved about this was: Addison was taking risks, from sheer fabrics to mix-and-matched pieces, but you could tell she was dressing for herself, not for the male gaze or for a crowd, but herself. Now that’s something we should all take note of!

High Fashion Era
As her single says, Addison would “rather get high fashion”- and that she does effortlessly, indeed.
Just before our eyes, we witnessed Addison swap her hoodies for high fashion: turning up at Red Carpets in Versace, attending Paris Fashion Week, and experimenting with stunning, bold latex dresses and vintage pieces, that just scream confidence!
Her style is still relatable but just elevated. There are hints of nostalgia, Y2K vibes, and old-school glamour and I think that’s why her style just hits differently.
My personal favourite high-fashion fit? It’s got to be this polka-dot Miu Miu set, paired with Miu Miu slingback pumps. The outfit is giving stylish and sophisticated. The matching set serves a polished, grown-up sort-of-look, whilst the shirt being slightly cropped, alongside the polka dots, add that fun edge to the look.
Overall, Addison’s style feels so authentic to me because her wardrobe evolution tells the story of someone trying to figure out their style and who they are-in real time. It’s refreshing to see someone who’s online and under the spotlight, still find so much joy in dressing and experimenting.
After all, dressing should be fun and all about you. Fizzypicks: My favorite Addison Rae–inspired pieces to try this season:
