A Glimpse Into A$AP Rocky x PUMA's Upcoming Collection
The pair return with their second motosport-inspired line.
In coordination with his role as the creative director for PUMA’s partnership with Formula 1 Racing, rapper A$AP Rocky went back to the drawing board for a second time. With huge nods to the motorsport industry, the collection fuses fashion, streetwear, and the art of racing.
Especially inspired by the upcoming Miami Grand Prix, the second installment features full racing-esque ensembles. This includes graphic tees, sweatpants, sweatshirts, balaclavas, driving gloves, and, of course, the line’s premium sneakers, giving fans of the collaboration the opportunity to be dressed head-to-toe in limited edition gear.
With a distressed flair to mimic the grit that goes into the sport of racing, PUMA x A$AP Rocky’s collection incorporates pieces that seek to simulate real motorsport apparel. This involves the graphic t-shirt that is embellished with a design of a driver’s 6-point seat belt. In colors of red, black, and yellow, the shirts are adorned with what mimics grease and dirt stains.
Influenced heavily by the aesthetics of the vintage Formula 1 racing suit, the A$AP Rocky x PUMA sweatshirt and sweatpants are a comfortable way to channel the look of your favorite driver. Made of 100% polyester with a slim fit, the white ensemble features distressed prints and custom PUMA graphics. To finish it off, the garments are crafted with warmCELL, cold weather technology that will keep the wearer warm and comfortable.
Accessories from the collection include the lime distressed balaclava, the padded helmet-style balaclava, and the heat map-printed driving gloves, all nods to iconic F1 garments.
As the standout piece of the collection, the A$AP Rocky x PUMA Inhale OG Sneakers are a conventional recreation of the original. Featuring exaggerated contours, the sneakers are available in their original color of white and beige with embellishments of black and red. The dimpling and color gradient effect of the shoes offer an innovative and unconventional look for its wearer.
Launched on May 3rd, A$AP Rocky x PUMA is available via PUMA’s online store. The line will also be available at the Miami Grand Prix on Saturday, May 4th.
