Vetements Goes Futuristic In Their Virtual SS22 Show

Vetements turns out a staggering 129 looks for their virtual Spring/Summer 2022 season collection.

Teasing the collection on Instagram through Matrix-themed posts, the futuristic theme is continued as the looks are presented in 'select your avatar' style stances, whilst the collection itself was influenced by our relationship with reality and the online world.

Vetements co-founder, Guram Gvasalia spoke to Vogue saying the collection was based a number of collections being "What is reality today? We live in this 2D world; the question is when you scroll through Instagram, is it Photoshopped or is it real? Do we consume the Internet or does it consume us?"

The sizeable collection features a multitude of looks, carrying similar cuts, silhouettes and prints in various forms.

An array of technology-inspired prints bless the collection such as a computer cable-esc print, a digital print as well as a fire print. In contrast, other looks are comprised of a single color in tones of aubergine, crimson red, green and a blue-toned grey.

In Vetements style, garments feature wordplay with phrases such as "Hotter Than Your Ex, Better Than Your Next" and "The Devil Doesn’t Wear Prada."

The collection comprises of a range of tailored and relaxed pieces. Wrap dresses with statement shoulders come in a variety of prints alongside matching thigh-high boots. Full-length coats feature heavily throughout, paired with tailored suit sets.

Softer silhouettes include graphic hoodies, loose trousers, shirts, sweatshirts, puffer jackets and more.
