POSTED BY EMMANUELLE GAMMAGE

I don’t know about you but I’ve been having a bath every night since Christmas to warm me up and beat the January blues. Lucky for you, this luxurious activity actually has loads of health benefits.

Traditionally, baths are thought to have medicinal and spiritual powers. For example, bathing is an ancient Japanese tradition. Onsen are natural hot springs which emerged through Japan’s volcanic activity. It’s believed that Onsen water is full of minerals to better your health. Plus, it’s super therapeutic to relax in steaming water surrounded by beauty.

Your bath may not be as big or surrounded by pretty views, but the basic benefits are similar. A 2018 study published in New Scientist found that taking baths twice a week produce “a moderate but persistent lift to mood”, comparing the benefits similar to physical exercise.

Additionally, Medical Daily reveal that baths: reduce inflammation, aids restful sleep, helps depression and improves well-being, eases muscle spasms, soothes skin and helps pain relief.

With that in mind, here are out favorite products for the perfect bath…

It also includes jujube, an ancient Chinese medicine used to reduce stress. Sounds like the perfect recipe for a blissful experience, right?
