ultravividpink's ULTRA
A Rising Star's Debut EP.
Fast-rising West London newcomer ultravividpink is ready to take over the music scene with her highly anticipated debut EP ULTRA, dropping November 28th. After captivating listeners with her emotionally raw and genre-blending sound, this otherworldly talent is proving she’s here to stay, bringing a unique blend of pop, R&B, and futuristic production to the forefront.
A true storyteller at heart, ultravividpink uses her debut EP to dive deep into themes of love, lust, heartbreak, and self-worth. The songs navigate complex emotions, from battling God complexes and crippling insecurity to dealing with a relationship that no longer serves her. This is music that goes beyond surface-level pop, exploring the messy beauty of human connection with raw honesty and emotional depth.
“Ultra,” the EP’s opening track, sets the stage for the sonic journey ahead. A haunting blend of syncopated percussion, futuristic production, and airy, entrancing chords, it introduces ultravividpink’s impressive vocal range—effortlessly shifting between full voice and falsetto. The track is a perfect introduction to her ability to meld genres and emotions seamlessly, creating a sound that’s both ethereal and grounded.
The next track, “Enredada” (which translates to “Tangled Up”), is an absolute standout. Combining favela funk with Jersey beats and her signature pop-R&B blend, ultravividpink sings in her native Spanish with stunning vocal harmonies. The track is a fusion of vibrant textures, where intricate melodies and stunning harmonies take centre stage, creating a lush, captivating soundscape.
“End it Now,” a focus track on the EP, takes listeners on an emotional journey with its layered production, delicate keys, and ultravividpink’s distinctive tone. Exploring themes of co-dependency and self-sabotage, the song features a striking collaboration with elevatetoday, whose raspy vocals add depth to the already complex atmosphere. The track’s intricate production and heart-wrenching lyrics make it one of the EP’s most powerful moments.
Closing out the EP is “Hate 2 Hate U,” a vulnerable, heartbreaking anthem about moving on from a painful breakup. With emotive acoustic guitar chords and ultravividpink’s delicate vocals, the track captures the essence of emotional rawness. Singing “Hate to hate you, push you off a pedestal, I’d love to shake you loose,” ultravividpink bares her soul, using perfect harmonies and intricate keys to weave a tapestry of unfiltered emotion.
Reflecting on the making of ULTRA, ultravividpink shares: “This project was produced exclusively by my dearest friend AKA block (Victor Ray, Kate Stewart), who is extremely talented. A number of the songs were co-written with the powerful artist and songwriter Aaria Tae who is also extremely talented. I made this project last December as my ‘let’s fall in love with music again’ rendition. I really needed to just make music I liked and hadn’t heard before in the UK. I really wanted to push the blends of cultures and universal feelings through a conceptual journey. We started by just hanging out every day in AKA block’s studio and going through ideas. It was also interesting for me because I hadn’t made anything in a while and when I went in at the beginning of the process I was shy and self-critical but by the end we had made so much good shit that I was eager to make more. My belief in my abilities grew the more I did it and I felt worthy of creating. I think the power of my debut EP is that it highlights the power of independence and self-love, even as other struggles arise. It’s cliché but self-belief is so hard to attain when it’s not your usual mindset. Going through things like anxiety and even breakups can really twist you right back into gear and look forward to a stronger version of yourself. Self-identity is also highly important. Never forget that being you makes you special type vibe.”
With the release of Pink Hues in 2022, ultravividpink quickly established herself as an artist to watch, delivering deeply authentic and personal moments through her music. Her exploration of topics like co-dependency, anxiety, and love resonated with fans, and her unique background—being of Spanish and Venezuelan descent—infuses her sound with a diverse cultural influence. Encouraged by friend Hugo Silvani (Pale Waves) to follow her musical dreams, ultravividpink has since collaborated with emerging talents like Jeshi and H.LLS, further solidifying her place in the music world.
Beyond music, ultravividpink has also made her mark in the fashion industry, walking for designer Sinead Gorey at London Fashion Week and appearing in music videos for Rita Ora and Sainte. Her unique blend of creativity has earned her early support from BBC Introducing, and with ULTRA about to drop, it’s clear that ultravividpink is carving out a major space for herself in both the music and fashion worlds.
With ULTRA finally here, ultravividpink is primed to make a lasting impact, establishing herself as one of London’s most exciting new voices and setting the stage for an even bigger year in 2025.
