Artlake Festival Wants You To Not Only Discover Great Artists But Also Activists

Musicians, artists, creative souls, utopians and activists exchange ideas about the essential topics of today and tomorrow.

On four days, musicians, artists, creative souls, utopians and activists gather in the former lignite mines at Bergheider See in Brandenburg, Germany to exchange ideas about the essential topics of today and tomorrow, to learn from each other and to celebrate together. The Artlake Festival sees itself as an interdisciplinary platform which promotes creative and conscious participation as well as artistic positions and suggestions for social discourse far away from well-known institutionalized structures.

Everyone can join, create, think, discuss and dance. The festival stands for a progressive pop and club culture that takes a stand. It reflects and promotes a diverse society at the interface of music, art and social policy – a space to experiment with new talents, thoughts and approaches.

This year, Artlake Festival is dedicated to “FREE THE FUTURE” true to its motto, In a better future, borders will be obsolete. It is happening from the 8th - 11th of August.

In this festival, there is not only music to find. In between artists, you will find spots to meditate, do art and spark dialogue.

Last year, Artlake's theme was to experience art in all its facets. They involved a workshop called the 'Flying Imro Deck', where everyone could learn how to DJ.

Artlake thrives to break down social structures only to rebuild them. This festival is diverse, political and promotes equality to it's truest form. The main goal, however, is to learn from each other.
