Ryan Gosling Wants To Play This MCU Character
The actor teases which character he has his eyes on.
Ryan Gosling revealed in a recent interview with MTV that he would be interested in portraying the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) version of Ghost Rider. MTV News’ Josh Horowitz teased the interview in a tweet on Tuesday.
Horowitz hosts the Happy Sad Confused podcast for MTV in which he interviewed Gosling to confirm or debunk marvel casting rumors for the character Nova. Instead, Gosling expressed interest in playing Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider.
“Ryan and I chatted about the Nova rumors yesterday which he said aren’t true,” wrote Horowitz on Twitter. “BUT this morning Ryan reached out to me to say there is one superhero he wants to play...GHOST RIDER.”

But for now, an honest to goodness EXCLUSIVE.

Nicolas Cage portrayed the character in the standalone 2007 film Ghost Rider. It followed the story of Cage’s character in which he sold his soul to save a loved one, in exchange for him becoming a vigilante that punishes evil.
A spinoff series from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was in the works headlining the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider played by Gabriel Luna. Luna’s Ghost Rider was introduced during the show’s fourth season. It is not confirmed as to whether Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is connected to the MCU or a standalone project.
Horowitz's full interview with Gosling drops next week.
