RuPaul’s Drag Race Is Back and Here Are The Promo Looks That Got Our Engines Revving

The TV show that has taken the world by storm is back for its Fifteenth season. You'd think RuPaul's Drag Race would be tired by this point. Well, you'd be wrong. Instead, a fresh wave of talented, fashionable, and gorgeous queens have sashayed into the Werkroom for their shot at the title of America's Next Drag Superstar.
For those unfamiliar with RuPaul's Drag Race franchise, the show sees a group of drag queens compete in a series of challenges each week. The challenges range from singing to dancing, to acting, to makeovers, to fashion and design, to stand-up comedy. Every week, each queen has to partake in a runway presentation, each with a different theme. This means that RuPaul's Drag Race has some stellar fashion to share with the world. Factoring in the runway and the performance in the challenge, the bottom two queens will Lip-Sync against each other, with the loser being eliminated until only one remains.
This season sees a cast of varied queens, each with their punch to pack. Together, let's dive into the style standouts of Season Fifteen.
Firstly, it should be stated that, undoubtedly, every single queen in this cast is a talent, and so many looks in this reveal are dazzling beyond belief. However, when the cast was revealed on Instagram yesterday, the fashion direction of a few queens caught my eye.
#1 - Spice
Up first, we have Spice. Her black and silver ensemble really catches the eye. From her embellished platform heel to her contrast boot to her "Bad Girl" bag, the look has been meticulously put together to give a punk meets rock-chick twist to her aesthetic. This is an aesthetic that I adore, and Spice's twist on it is stunning. Her makeup features an exaggerated, black wing underneath brows that aren't a millimeter out of place and bottom lashes fit for a supermodel. Of course, this goes without mentioning her unreal hair, which sees two long, black pigtails and a black bun embellished with silver jewelry to match the rest of the outfit. The attention to detail yet the effortless portrayal of the look combine to make Spice a standout for Season Fifteen.
#2 - Sasha Colby
Another standout is the one and only Sasha Colby. The drag mother of Season Fourteen favorite Kerri Colby, Sasha has shown us what the MOTHER of the House of Colby can do.. This look is everything. The divine ponytail only enhances the stunning checkered-flag boning that showcases her body to her full benefit. The way this outfit is sold is what makes it stand out. She gives face and body, basking in confidence exuded by such a beautiful and fashion-forward queen. Her makeup features lights, darks, and different shades of pink to keep matching the color palette of her entire look. The trans representation within the cast of RuPaul's Drag Race is always wonderful to see, and Sasha Colby is a prime example of someone who knows who she is and how talented she is. I'm very excited to see what she turns out this season.
#3 - Malaysia Babydoll Foxx
A queen that it would be remiss to omit is Malaysia Babydoll Foxx. This look alone makes me excited to watch this season of RuPaul's Drag Race. A leather, latex, and mesh combo is always something I am going to endorse. The black and yellow checks emulate the checkered racing flag that is a staple to the show, while mesh details and a leg slit show off this Miami queen's beautiful body. This hair is also beautiful, and the vivid, canary yellow matches the gloves and the belt, while a black and pink cloak matches the background of the shoot, merging everything together perfectly. All with a beautiful silhouette. This is a prime example of another queen that has paid close attention to detail, and it only ramps up excitement for this season.
#4 - Aura Mayari
Last but CERTAINLY not least is Aura Mayari. When I first saw this look, I said, "she's literally so hot," aloud to a room with only my dog in it. She is jaw-droppingly beautiful. This Nashville queen has a platinum blonde high-ponytail which snatches her face, which features an exaggerated pink-eye shadow and a wing on her eyeliner that would make birds jealous everywhere. This stands out, however (as if that wasn't enough), because of this outfit. A cut-out leotard that features many shades of pink alongside pink chaps that feature designs that resemble the high fashion of Lady Gaga's Chromatica. This is encased by a divine, floor-length coat with exaggerated shoulders and bursting forth with an extensive spectrum of pink. The black and pink motorcycle helmet ties it all together, giving the air of a high fashion yet hands-on queen. I am so excited to see how Aura does this season; if this look is anything to go off of, we're all in for a real treat.
