Celebrating Margot Robbie's most stylish on-screen moments.

POSTED BY ANA BEATRIZ REITZ

Named by Forbes as one of the world's highest-paid actresses in 2019, Australian actress Margot Robbie is renowned for starring in both high-profile productions and independent films. Robbie's career began in 2008 with indie mystery films Vigilante and I.C.U. Soon after, she starred on television in shows like City Homicide and The Elephant Princess, and years later in the series Neighbours and Pan Am.

Her breakthrough role, however, was in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street. Seen as the new blonde bombshell on Hollywood's block, Robbie performed in movies such as Focus, Suite Française, and The Big Short, becoming a worldwide sensation. She later played Harley Quinn in DC's Suicide Squad, American ice skater Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, the late actress Sharon Tate in Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Barbie in Greta Gerwig's production.

A vocal supporter of women's rights, the actress has a production company with her husband Tom Ackerley and friends Sophia Kerr and Josey McNamara called LuckyChap Entertainment, which aims to produce more women-led productions. Besides the acting and production realm, Robbie has proven to be nothing less than a fashion icon. Whether styled by Andrew Mukamal in stunning looks that have made her "one of the most glamorous starlets" according to Vogue, or starring in movies with a fashion flair, the actress has a versatile and undoubtedly fabulous résumé. In celebration of her birthday on July 2nd, Fizzy has united two of her versatile talents to list Margot Robbie’s most fashionable movies.

Barbie (2023)

From Chanel tweeds to pastel-toned looks, Greta Gerwig’s movie, costumed designed by Jacqueline Durran is sure to leave every fashionista in awe.

Babylon (2022)

In Damien Chazelle's Babylon, costume designer Mary Zophres perfectly captured the decadence, depravity, and extravagance of 1920s Hollywood, from tailored suits to the iconic party red dress worn by Robbie's character, Nellie.

Birds of Prey (2020)

With a maximalist closet, Harley Quinn emancipates herself in style, courtesy of Cathy Yan's direction and Erin Benach's costume design. The looks range from references to Marilyn Monroe's hot pink dress in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes to shiny, punky-rock, streetwear.

Once upon a time in Hollywood (2019)

In Tarantino's film, costume designer Arianne Phillips goes back to the iconic style of the late '60s. With pieces like a floor-length snakeskin coat – a reference to what Sharon Tate wore to the Rosemary's Baby premiere in 1968 – giant sunglasses, brown leather jackets, denim pants, a yellow set, and miniskirts, the era couldn't be better represented.

Suicide Squad (2016)

For David Ayer's production, with costumes designed by Judianna Makovsky,  from Harley Quinn's iconic uniform - with fishnet tights, a T-shirt that reads "Daddy's lil monster", micro shorts, the "puddin" necklace, and a red and blue jacket - to a shiny gold and black minidress, Harley Quinn dresses to impress as she saves the world with her team of supervillains.

The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

Despite being a biographical comedy, Martin Scorsese's movie includes plenty of style. With costume designer Sandy Powell in the works, the wardrobe relied on an opulent and extravagant nature, seen in suits and sultry dresses.
