Louis Vuitton Goes Olympic
Spring/Summer 2025 is set for sporty realness.
It seems as if Louis Vuitton is taking some serious inspiration from the approaching Olympic Games. And we're not mad about it. Their Spring/Summer 2025 Men's show introduced a blend of athletic elegance to the world of fashion. The 2024 Olympic Games are coming up fast, and the Parisian spirit of athleticism is already dominating the scene.
Last night, Louis Vuitton launched Paris Men's Fashion Week with an electrifying presentation at the Maison de l'UNESCO, UNESCO's Paris headquarters. This iconic location, which symbolically represents the expression of unity through culture, was the setting for a collection that praised diversity in all its forms. Under the guidance of creative director Pharrell Williams, the brand presented a collection filled with luxury, sportswear and well-known superb aesthetics, as expected for Louis Vuitton.
Pharrell's designs centered around rich, dark hues, much like previous creations with Louis Vuitton that depicted the state of man. The show notes read, "The relationship between macro and micro views of humanity: a diverse species of the same flesh and blood." Starting the show were all-black outfits with complex patterns such as snake-o-flage and map-o-flage, a clever take on the basic damier and camouflage prints.
This collection focused heavily on handbags. They included the Alma, the Christopher, and the Neverfull in soft leather with oversized monograms and classic finishes. Some fresh interpretations of the Danube, the Nile, the Amazon, and Bastille arrived on the catwalk, alongside the eye-catching, rhinestone-encrusted Keepall. Another showstopper was the Speedy P9 in light pastel shades, which Louis Vuitton described as "faded fluorescent colors, as if they had been bleached by the sun.".
Once the collection was showcased, we could only wonder where to go next. Its sophisticated execution left us all wanting to grab our next Louis Vuitton bag and head out to travel the world. Blending luxury, athleticism, and a human feel, the collection leaves us craving the next trip around the globe.
