KHY After Dark Makes A Case for Dressing Up

When nobody asked you to.

There is a particular pleasure in wearing something completely impractical for an otherwise ordinary evening. A dramatic coat over jeans. A little dress when the weather clearly disagrees. Shoes that make a simple trip outside feel like an occasion. Not every outfit needs to be sensible, and KHY’s latest collection seems perfectly comfortable with that idea.

Kylie Jenner’s label introduces After Dark, its first winter holiday collection, with a wardrobe inspired by Los Angeles nightlife and the glamour of getting ready without a particularly good reason. Faux fur, oversized outerwear, statement knitwear and party-ready silhouettes make up the 16-piece lineup. The message is clear: winter dressing does not have to disappear into layers of black basics.

The Coat Is the Whole Conversation

The Hollywood Coat leads the collection, and it is difficult to imagine a more appropriate centerpiece. Its plush faux-fur construction and generous shawl collar bring old-school Hollywood glamour into a contemporary silhouette. The design is inspired by Kris Jenner, whose approach to dressing has long favored polished, unmistakable statement pieces.

There is something satisfying about an outfit built around one excellent coat. It takes the pressure off everything underneath. Denim and a simple top suddenly feel intentional, while an evening dress gets an extra layer of drama. KHY understands that outerwear can be more than the practical thing you throw on before leaving the house.

The collection also includes the Marmont Sculpted Coat, leopard-print outerwear and oversized puffers. The different shapes keep the offering from becoming a one-note exercise in faux-fur excess. Leopard, in particular, brings a little personality to winter dressing. It can be glamorous, playful or deliberately loud, depending on how much attention you want to invite.

Comfort Has a Nightlife Too

The knitwear is where After Dark gets more interesting. Fringed cardigans made with baby alpaca and merino wool introduce movement and texture, while a wool-and-cashmere set with a coordinating balaclava gives familiar cold-weather pieces a more styled identity.

I like the idea of knitwear refusing to stay in its designated daytime role. A cardigan does not have to mean a quiet afternoon, and a warm outfit does not have to look like an apology for the temperature. The fringe adds enough visual drama to make these pieces feel considered, without sacrificing the appeal of something soft and wearable.

Then there is the cropped faux-fur zip-up hoodie, arriving in baby pink and black. It carries a distinctly early-2000s energy, recalling the era when glamorous casualwear and coordinated lounge sets were practically a celebrity uniform. The reference feels playful rather than overly nostalgic.

A Little Hollywood, A Little Everyday

Shot by Quentin de Briey, the campaign follows Jenner through a historic Hollywood Hills residence, a vintage car and the neon-lit Sunset Strip. The setting gives the collection its cinematic personality, but the clothes are not restricted to fantasy-party dressing.

That is the most convincing part of After Dark. Its statement pieces can be brought back down to earth with uncomplicated basics. A dramatic coat with denim, a fringed cardigan with tailored trousers, or a faux-fur hoodie with everyday separates: the contrast is where the styling becomes fun.

Released October 27, 2026, KHY After Dark is available through the brand's online store. The collection suggests that winter dressing can accommodate practicality without surrendering personality. Sometimes getting dressed is the event, and that is reason enough.
