Marian Hill’s Single Captures How It Feels To See An Ex After A Breakup

It’s surprisingly indifferent.

It may be awkward, it may be difficult but, as Marian Hill’s newest single shows, an experience of bumping into your ex after a breakup can feel surprisingly indifferent, more than you’ve ever imagined it to be. ‘Little Bit’ will be a perfect song for everyone picturing this moment in their heads and maybe even romanticizing it. It’s not as emotional as you think.

Marian Hill, a duo from Philadelphia consisting of singer Samantha Gongol and producer Jeremy Lloyd, are known for minimal, electronic beats and sultry sounds. Yet, it is Samantha’s seductive, mesmerizing, bright, evocative vocal which steals the show immediately.  ‘Little Bit’ also features GASHI, the so-called ‘trap Phil Collins,’ signed by JAY-Z to Roc Nation.

His presence provides a perfect emotional juxtaposition in the song. ‘It struck us how perfectly his emotional tone contrasted with Sam's more distant malaise,’ shares Marian Hill. ‘Little Bit’ blends not only emotions but also, genres and inspirations. ‘To this day we can't even agree on what genre the song is,’ they admit.

We would describe it as an anthem of freedom. Planning to bump into your ex? Listen to ‘Little Bit’ by Marian Hill, featuring GASHI.
