FKA Twigs Opens Up About Details Of Abuse
‘He would push me and then he would say: you fell.'
Two months ago, FKA Twigs, critically acclaimed singer, dancer, songwriter and artist, filled a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, actor Shia LaBeouf. She accuses him of physical, emotional and sexual abuse. The lawsuit also contains accounts from LaBeouf’s another ex-girlfriend, Karolyn Pho.
To raise awareness on violence and reach out to more victims, FKA Twigs publicly shares her story. A month ago, she has spoken to Louis Theroux on his podcast. Now she opened up on TV, in an interview with Gayle King on CBS This Morning.
She shared that LaBeouf tested her boundaries, jumping over the fence to her house and leaving flowers outside, which initially she considered as ‘romantic.’ He wanted complete control over her and panicked when she wanted to get out of the relationship. She also told that he demanded a certain amount of physical affection a day.
‘It was 20 touches and kisses a day,’ the singer told Gayle King. And she added, ‘You lose count and days blur into each other. And I’m thinking: it’s eight o’clock and I have three hours to do this.’
Towards the end of the relationship, the actor became ‘physical’ with FKA Twigs. ‘He would push me and then he would say: you fell,’ she shared on CBS. She also spoke about stalking, gaslighting, physical violence and loneliness. She decided to share her traumatic experience because ‘victims and survivors shouldn’t have to feel alone.’
LeBeouf’s responded that he was 'ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt.’ However, he added that 'many of these allegations are not true,’ denying them in a court filling.
