FKA Twigs Accuses Shia LaBeouf Of Sexual, Physical And Emotional Abuse

The alternative mega star FKA Twigs dated the actor Shia LaBeouf for about a year back in 2018. Recently, she has spoken to The New York Times about the sexual, physical and emotional abuse she experienced in this relationship. She also filed a lawsuit against the actor, which contains accounts from LaBeouf’s ex-girlfriend Karolyn Pho.
One instance of abuse occurred right after Valentine’s Day in 2019. On a way to LA, when the couple was in the car, LaBeouf demanded FKA Twigs to confess love to him and threatened to crash the car otherwise. She begged him to let her out and when he finally pulled over at the gas station, he threw her against the car and screamed at her face. The vocalist articulates that although it happened in public, nobody reacted. As an unconventional artist, as well as a woman of color, she feared that nobody would believe her.
She decided to reach out anyway because she wants to raise awareness in the tactics the abusers use. On the other hand, she realizes that she’s financially privileged. ”The whole time I was with him, I could have bought myself a business-flight plane ticket back to my four-story townhouse in Hackney,” she admitted. This is why she plans to donate potential monetary damage from the lawsuit to domestic violence charities.
